Christmas Necklace & Jewelry Buffet

Here is my Christmas Necklace that I made.

I had tried "scrapbooking" a Fall themed necklace, but none of my ideas worked. To put the glass cover on your necklace, you use liquid glass. Liquid glass works fine with CTMH inks and embossed items until you attach the glass cover.

I had stamped out this beautiful Fall themed piece to put in this necklace and once I squished on the glass cover...the ink ran. Then I heat embossed the stamped images. Once I put the glass cover on, the liquid glass was all blotchy where the embossed images were.

So, I have decided to stick with Close to My Heart stickers, CTMH paper and photos printed at Japan camera (wet lab) because those are what I have used and they have worked without a hitch.

I used CTMH's Base & Bling Antiqued Gold Chain, Antique Gold Rectangle Pendant, Rectangle Glass Cover and Liquid Glass.

To embellish my necklace, I used the sticker sheets from CTMH's My Crush Holiday Happenings Assortment, CTMH's Base & Bling Charms - Storyteller (antique gold heart), Spellbinders Heart Square Nestabilities (hearts), American Crafts Studio Calico Veneer Snowflake and a miscellaneous velvet poinsettia from my flower stash.

If you look at the sticker sheets that come with the My Crush Holiday Happenings Assortment, you will not find anything that looks like my necklace. I cut up different stickers from the red & green sticker sheets to "scrapbook" my necklace.

To see my other necklaces & bracelet I have made, please click here: http://www.datsmystyledj.blogspot.ca/2014/07/close-to-my-heart-jewellery.html.

Tool Box Using My Favourite Tools

At Heart 2 Heart Challenge Blog, I am the September Guest Designer and this week's challenge is to use your favourite tool.

Well, I use Close to My Heart's discontinued My Creations Card Box to hold all my extra blades for my straight cutter. It fits perfect in my drawer and was still in it's boring state of white.

So, I decided to cover the card box using some of my favourite tools. Besides my basic tools that I can't scrapbook without: Stampin' Up Straight Cutter, 3M Tape Gun, EK Success Scissors, EK Success Tweezers, Westcott Fabric Scissors and my Making Memories Metal Ruler...my favourite tools would be my Cricut Machine & my sewing machine.

I used CTMH's Pathfinding Paper Packet with CTMH's Glacier cardstock.

To embellish the tool box, I used CTMH's Artbooking Cricut Cartridge for "Tool Box", CTMH's Artiste Cricut Cartridge for the bow, Basic Grey flower, Basic Grey leaves, Basic Grey buttons, Making Memories brad, miscellaneous embroidery floss from my stash, the reverse zig zag stitch on my sewing machine, Zutter Distrezz-it-All electronic paper distresser and the button on the closure of the box is from my stash of buttons from my grandma.

The reverse zig zag stitch was a happy mistake. My soon to be 3 year old son was playing with my sewing machine. I thought I got to him before he did anything to my machine, but I was wrong. Now I have to figure out how to get it back to normal, but I liked how the stitch looked with this paper line.

You have until the end of the month to play along with this challenge. So, carve out some time in your scrap space and share with us your favourite tool. You can make a card, a layout, an altered item or whatever suites your fancy. I can't wait to see what you come up with.

To play along, you must use CTMH products, but your project doesn't have to be 100% CTMH. To find out more about Heart 2 Heart Challenges, please click here: http://heart2heartchallenges.blogspot.ca.

Lighthouse Birthday Card

I am the September Guest Designer at the Heart 2 Heart Challenge Blog and this week's challenge is continuing with the favourites theme...favourite technique.

Again, very hard to narrow this down for me, but this ripping technique has always been a favourite of mine that I have been doing it for years on cards and layouts. Also, lately I have been addicted to using embossing folders and so I even threw a little of that in there too.

I used Close to My Heart's Seaside Paper Packet with CTMH's Desert Sand & Bamboo cardstocks.

To embellish the card, I used CTMH's Triangle Studs, CTMH's Stripe Embossing Folder and ribbon from my stash that I wish I could remember where I bought it from because it matches CTMH's Desert Sand perfectly. I know I bought it pre-flood and that was over 2 years ago now and I don't have much of it left.

I used CTMH's Seaside Greetings, New Zealand Greetings and Banner Wishes stamp sets with CTMH Desert Sand ink.

You have until the end of the month to play along with this challenge. So, carve out some time in your scrap space and share with us your favourite technique.

Happy 15th Birthday Emma!

I used Close to My Heart's Confetti Wishes Paper Packet with Thistle, Canary, Pacifica, Crystal Blue and White Daisy cardstocks.

To embellish the card, I used CTMH's Confetti Wishes Assortment and Chevron Embossing Folder.

I used CTMH's Holiday Tags stamp set and Unity Stamps Matching Socks stamp set with CTMH Black ink and Memento Black Tuxedo ink.

I used the following Copic Markers: Purple - RV66 & V05; Yellow - Y26 & Y15; Light Teal - BG72 & BG53 and Dark Teal - B97 & BG75.

My cousin, Emma, has never worn matching socks. A few of my younger cousins and my niece have always worn two different socks, so when I saw this stamp set from Unity Stamps....it was a must have.

Joy Ornament Christmas Card

I am the September Guest Designer at Heart 2 Heart Challenge Blog and this week's challenge is simple...use your favourite stamp or stamp set.

For me, there is no such thing as a favourite stamp or stamp set. I love all my stamps otherwise I wouldn't buy them.

So, how did I take on this week's challenge? Well, I asked myself, what was one of my favourite must have stamp sets from the New Close to My Heart Annual Inspirations that I haven't used yet and the answer was Noel.

I am also playing along with Freshly Made Sketches #152 - A Sketch by Cindy H.

I used Close to My Heart's Snowhaven Paper Packet with CTMH Cranberry, Glacier & White Daisy cardstocks.

To embellish the card, I used CTMH's Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge for the ornament shape, CTMH Sponge Dauber with CTMH Cranberry ink, CTMH Clear Assortment Sparkles, EK Success Small Snowflake Punch and the zig zag stitch on my sewing machine with thread from Fabricland.

I used CTMH's Noel stamp set with CTMH Black ink and Memento Black ink.
