Christmas Card Camp

Saturday, October 9, 2010 - FULL
Time: 11:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Cost: $50.00 tax included

World Card Making Day is the first Saturday of October. Due to my girlfriend's wedding on that day, DAT'S will be celebrating World Card Making Day the following weekend. I know it is Thanksgiving weekend, but it's the best I can do with the other events going on around the same time.

The challenge that I gave myself for this year's Christmas Card Camp was to use the same image stamp on all three cards and to only use sentiments from one stamp set and all the stamps had to come from the same company. Also, I wanted to keep the cards as flat as possible so that they are easier to mail out. I am very happy with what I came up with.

Each participant at this workshop will receive a:
~ CC Design Swiss Pixies Heidi with Ornament Rubber Stamp
~ CC Design Amy R Winter Sentiments Rubber Stamp Set
~ All the supplies to make 2 of each of the above cards

Some of the fun tools & supplies that we will be using during this workshop are:

We will be completing the inside of each of the cards, but I ran out of time to get the insides completed in time for registration this week. Once they are completed I will post the inside of the cards in this posting.

These cards look much better in person. I tried shooting these cards outside, inside & upside down, but I could not capture the true colours of these cards.

September Card Workshop

Wednesday, September 15, 2010 - FULL
Time: 7:00 p.m. Cost: $7.00

I know that most people don't do Halloween Cards, but it's hard not to do a Halloween card when there are all these great Halloween stamps available. So, I did a Halloween themed Birthday Card. If you like, you can change the inside sentiment to say "Happy Halloween".

You will be making one card in this workshop, but my samples show you two different ways to colour Zelda the Zombie with the same copic markers and how to make the same papers work depending on how you colour the Zombie.

This is one of those fun fold cards. Ellena did a Christmas Card Workshop last year using the same style of card. Some of you weren't able to attend that workshop and asked for this style of card to come back as a workshop.

The Two-Sided Patterned Papers we will be using are We R Memory Keepers Precious Metal Pewter Press Cinta, Noche & Bloc and the cardstock is Core'dinations Nostalgia & Tank.

We are using Zelda the Zombie & Halloween Sentiments from Kraftin' Kimmie's New Halloween Release. The "Happy Birthday" sentiment is from her Everday Sentiment Stamp Set. Kraftin' Kimmie has a new release available tomorrow on her website and available in my store when I open the doors on Tuesday at 12:00 p.m.

You will be using my sewing machine to do some stitching on this card and a distressing tool to rough up the edges of the patterned papers. We also will be using one of Stampin' Up's Word Window Punches for the sentiment on the front of the card.

The flowers & spiders are punched out with EK Success punches, the googly eyes are just from my stash of craft supplies and the ribbon is from Stampin' Up.

Copic Markers: Eyes - Y38 & Y32; Clothes - YR18 & YR16; Body & Hair - YG95 & YG93 and E71.

Registration for this workshop and for all the Fall Workshops at DAT'S begins at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 17, 2010.

You must phone or come by the store to register. Email registration is not accepted. Payment is due upon registration in cash only. If you register by phone, you have until Saturday, August 21, 2010 to pay for your workshop(s).
